Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 12 October 2026
1. About these Terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of https://paystara.in and the Paystara software (the "Service"), operated by Paystara, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India ("Paystara", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
In these Terms, "you" or "User" means the person or business that holds a Paystara account. "Client" means someone you invoice, or send a reminder or contract to, through Paystara.
2. What Paystara does
Paystara is software that helps you create GST-ready invoices, share payment links, send payment reminders by email and WhatsApp, detect payments, create contracts with e-signatures, and prepare GST reports.
Paystara is a software provider only. We are not a bank, a payment aggregator, a law firm, a chartered accountant or a collection agency, and nothing in the Service is legal, tax or financial advice.
3. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
- You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for all activity on your account. Tell us at once if you think your account has been misused.
4. Plans, free trial and payments
- Paystara offers a Free plan and paid plans (currently Starter and Pro). Features and limits for each plan are shown on the Pricing page.
- Paid plans start with a 15-day free trial. No card is needed to start the trial.
- Prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and include GST, as shown at checkout.
- Payments for Paystara plans are made online through Razorpay. Each payment covers one billing period (monthly or yearly). We do not automatically charge you again. We will remind you before your plan ends so you can renew.
- If you do not renew, paid features may stop working or be limited when the period ends. Your data is not deleted because of this.
- Refunds are explained in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
5. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your invoices, GST details, amounts, due dates and all content you enter or upload.
- You must follow all applicable laws, including GST and tax laws and laws on electronic communication and debt collection.
- You confirm you have the right to contact your Clients by email and WhatsApp, and that the messages you ask Paystara to send are lawful.
- You choose the tone and timing of reminders. You must not use the Service to harass, threaten or mislead anyone.
6. Payments between you and your Clients
When your Client pays an invoice, the money goes directly to your own Razorpay account or your own UPI ID. Paystara does not receive, hold or transfer your invoice money.
Paystara is not a party to your dealings with your Clients. Any dispute, refund, chargeback or non-payment is between you and your Client. Your use of your own Razorpay account is also subject to Razorpay's terms.
7. Contracts and e-signatures
- The contract clauses and templates in Paystara are general-purpose and may not suit every deal. They are not legal advice. For high-value or complex deals, please have a lawyer review your terms.
- Paystara is not a party to any contract created through the Service.
- When a contract is signed, we record the signer's name, date, time and IP address. Under the Information Technology Act, 2000, electronic signatures can be valid, but enforceability, stamp duty and other requirements depend on the contract and the state, and are your responsibility.
8. Email and WhatsApp messages
Paystara sends invoices, reminders and contract links on your behalf using third-party providers. We do not guarantee delivery, because it depends on the provider, the network and the recipient. WhatsApp messages are also subject to WhatsApp's own rules and template approvals.
9. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent or abusive;
- send spam or messages to people who have not dealt with you;
- try to break, probe, overload or reverse-engineer the Service, or access another user's data;
- resell or share your account without our written permission.
10. Your data and privacy
You own the data you put into Paystara. You allow us to process it only to run and improve the Service for you. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
11. Intellectual property
The Paystara software, name, logo and design belong to us. You get a limited, non-exclusive right to use the Service while your account is active. We do not claim ownership of your invoices, contracts or other content.
12. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service running, but it is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, and we do not promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may add, change or remove features. If we change the price of a plan, the new price applies only from your next payment, not to a period you have already paid for.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Paystara is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or for any invoice or amount that your Client does not pay. Our total liability to you for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
14. Indemnity
You agree to cover us against claims, losses and costs that arise from your content, your breach of these Terms or the law, or your dealings with your Clients.
15. Suspension and ending your account
You can stop using Paystara at any time. You can also write to us to close your account and ask for your data to be deleted, subject to records we must keep by law. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms or is used unlawfully, and we will try to tell you why.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a problem, please write to support@paystara.in first so we can try to resolve it in good faith. If it is not resolved, the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra will have exclusive jurisdiction.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for important changes, tell you by email or in the app. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
